Our Story USA Dance 2039

Lisa D. Kehoe (Lisa has been part of the USA Dance board of directors since 2005 & has been dancing since 2004. She has 2 amazing kids & a "dancer" husband, Tom. During the daytime Lisa is a private practice lactation consultant & doula at Oh Baby Mine.)

Our USA Dance Chapter was founded in 1996 by a group of people who are serious about dancing. We are all volunteers. THAT would have to be the most important part of our club & how we function. We are a group of people that all have full time jobs & family lives but we all somehow fit dance into our lives.

Over these past years we have been very fortunate. We have had some amazing volunteers on our board & on our "sub-board". In the beginning we were able to find the most amazing venue to have our dances at (these being the 4th Saturday dance) The Community Complex of Boone County. This was originally the High School in Belvidere Illinois that was hit by the famous tornado. Since it has been remodeled several times over. It's current state is the most beautiful place we could ask for. It's very modern, clean & very safe to host our dances at. We love our venue & I would have to say having such a great place along with our dedicated volunteer staff is what has kept us alive all these years.

One of the best parts of USA Dance 2039 is our annual September Anniversary dance. This dance is planned with a fantastic instructor for a full day of dance instruction. During the day we host 2 workshops, then, we take a break & come back with another lesson at 7pm. Of course we still have our open dancing & mixers. The teachers will put on a dance show in the middle of the dance with some semi-professional exhibitions. The daytime class are very reasonable & the nightime dance is still the same affordable price.

USA Dance of Northern Illinois is a club that will be around for years to come.
